Summit County ADM Board Welcomes New Board Member

David J. Peter, MD, FACEP, was recently appointed to the County of Summit ADM Board of Directors and his term will run through December, 2009.  Dr. Peter is the Chief Medical Information Officer at Akron General Medical Center.  He also serves as the Medical Director of Palliative and Hospice Care for the Visiting Nurse Services (VNS) of Akron and is a practicing emergency physician at Akron General Medical Center.

Dr. Peter has a B.A. degree in Biology from Thomas More College and received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical College where he also completed his residency program. He is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) and was named an Outstanding Volunteer Faculty for 2008.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Area Agency on Aging as well as other community volunteer activities.

Dr. Peter comments about his appointment, “I look forward to serving the residents of Summit County, the organizations and service providers who are helping throughout Summit county, and the individuals in recovery or reached through ADM related services.”
