Family Wellness Day Planned for Sunday, May 17th, 2009

The County of Summit ADM Board, in partnership with Akron General is sponsoring “When Life is a Zoo, Take Care of You!”, a family wellness event on Sunday, May 17th from 12pm-4pm at the Akron Zoo. In recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, the event is intended to provide those attending with fun reminders about how to keep themselves and their families healthy.  There will be education stations throughout the zoo where participants can learn from the “creature teachers” about ways animals relieve stress, maintain social connections, play and keep physically active. Other activities include a kids craft /activity area, local animal mascots, informational displays about area health resources and door prizes. Regular zoo admission rates apply.
