Renee’ L. Greene was sworn in as the newest member of the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board at their February meeting. Mrs. Greene graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Elementary education and taught in the Akron Public School system for over 30 years. Mrs. Greene served on the Akron City Council from 1997 through 2009 with the notable distinction of being the second African American woman to have served on Council and the first to conduct a City Council Meeting. She has been an active community volunteer and has served on multiple local, state and national committees. Renee’ also has received numerous awards for leadership and community services from both local and national educational and service organizations. Mrs. Greene comments about her appointment, “I am extremely honored and privileged to be able to work with such a prestigious group to serve our community.”
