About 230 people attended the appreciation luncheon where the County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board paid tribute to local trailblazers. Those who received the 2017 Trailblazer Awards include: Candace Pallante, Gerard Dusa, The Devil Strip, and Greg McNeil.

On August 31, 2016, the Summit County Community Partnership (SCCP) launched an effort to remove over 1.2 million prescription pills from Summit County. Today, one year later, partners in the project gathered at Acme Fresh Market on West Market Street to celebrate a huge step in the right direction.

On Monday, June 19, 2017, County Executive Ilene Shapiro introduced legislation to County Council to accept a FY2017 Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Court Program grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in the amount of $974,570.00.

Summit County Opiate Task Force in welcoming renowned author Sam Quinones to Summit County on April 12 for. Quinones wrote the groundbreaking book “Dreamland, The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic.”

Recovery is happening in our community, thanks to the efforts of individuals and organizations who are stepping up for the fight of their lives.
Quick Response Teams (QRT) Growing County-Wide

The QRT concept was introduced to Summit County by Greg McNeil, a Hudson resident and member of our Summit County Opiate Task Force. Greg tragically lost his son to an overdose in October, 2015.
