On August 31, 2016, the Summit County Community Partnership (SCCP) launched an effort to remove over 1.2 million prescription pills from Summit County. Today, one year later, partners in the project gathered at Acme Fresh Market on West Market Street to celebrate a huge step in the right direction.

On Monday, June 19, 2017, County Executive Ilene Shapiro introduced legislation to County Council to accept a FY2017 Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Court Program grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in the amount of $974,570.00.

The QRT concept was introduced to Summit County by Greg McNeil, a Hudson resident and member of our Summit County Opiate Task Force. Greg tragically lost his son to an overdose in October, 2015.

The County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADM) Services Board welcomed new member Daniel R. Flowers who was sworn in by Barberton Municipal Court Judge Jill Flagg Lanzinger. Mr. Flowers was appointed by Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro to fill an unexpired term through June 30th, 2017.
