Addiction Crises (alcohol, opiates and other drugs)
The ADM Crisis Center, operated by Oriana House Inc., serves those with a variety of alcohol and other drug emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services include a drop-in 23-hour observation program, inpatient and outpatient detoxification. The ADM Crisis Center services are intended to provide access and support to adult Summit County residents seeking emergency help. Services are provided by a full medical and clinical staff.

Mental Health Crises
Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) is operated by Portage Path Behavioral Health, Inc. and is the ADM System’s primary provider of emergency and crisis stabilization services. The Psychiatric Emergency Services Unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides an array of services to those in crisis or seeking emergency psychiatric services including a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention services, and a crisis stabilization unit.

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in a suicidal crisis, regardless of age. The Portage Path Support Hotline is part of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a 24-hour, toll-free suicide prevention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis that routes callers to the closest possible crisis center in their area. With over 150 crisis centers across the country, their mission is to provide immediate assistance to anyone seeking mental health services. Calls are free and confidential.

Akron Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron - Psychiatric Intake Response Center (PIRC)
The Psychiatric Intake Response Center (PIRC) answers questions from family members or other adults associated with children or adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral health problems. In addition, PIRC staff conducts preliminary risk assessments for children and adolescents in crisis who are considered to be high risk.

Child Guidance & Family Solutions (CG&FS)
For youth who are clients, CG&FS staff provides immediate crisis assessment and intervention services, including face-to-face when necessary. Those requiring hospitalization for crisis stabilization purposes are referred to Akron Children’s Hospital, PIRC, or another facility of the parent / guardian’s choice.
