These brief videos feature Summit County residents sharing their recovery journey.  The people featured here have been helped by ADM Board funded services and have agreed to share their recovery experiences to encourage others.

Joe

"Today, the Possibilities are Endless." Joe had struggled with addictive tendencies his entire life. His substance abuse resulted in him losing everything in his life that he held dear. Community Health Center gave Joe the help he desperately needed to get his life back on track. He now helps people daily with their own struggles and is happily a devoted husband, father, son, co-worker and friend.

Joe received services through Community Health Center.
 

Marcia

"Today, I have my life Back." After having surgery, Marcia became addicted to prescription pain pills. This addiction led to harder substances that soon completely consumed her life. With the help of the Oriana House, Marcia is happy, healthy and most importantly, has the proper tools to stay sober. She now devotes her time and energy to helping others with their addictions.

Marcia received services through Oriana House - ADM Crisis Center.
 

Solomon

"Today, My Future is Bright." Solomon struggled for years with bipolar disorder, constantly feeling manic and depressed, leaving his life in disorder. Community Support Services helped him to control his bipolar disorder with group and individual counseling, helping him tremendously. Solomon today enjoys stability in his home, in his job, and is looking forward to a bright future with his soon-to-be wife.

Solomon received services through Community Support Services.
 

Jerod

"Today, I Am in Control of My Future." After multiple times at detox, Jerod was able to open himself up to change through the help of IBH Addiction Recovery Services. He now plays an active role in supporting other addicts which, he insists, gives him a high that no drug could give him.

Jerod received services through IBH Addiction Recovery Services and Oriana House - ADM Crisis Center.
 

Kevin

"Today, I Am Living in Freedom." Kevin went through a series of extreme highs and extreme lows before he wound up at the ADM Crisis Center. He then went into therapy at Portage Path Behavioral Health, where he still goes today to maintain a well-balanced and happy life.

Kevin received services through Oriana House - ADM Crisis Center and Portage Path Behavioral Health.
 

China

"Today, I Have So Much to Live For." After receiving treatment through Community Health Center and IBH Addiction Recovery Services, China has been able to lead a happy and healthy life.

Rick

"Today, I Have a Reason to Celebrate." Thanks to the support he received from IBH Addiction Recovery Services and Oriana House, Rick lives a clean and sober life. He is now pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Administration.

Ivy

"Today, I Have a Greater Purpose." Ivy found help for her addictions through Portage Path Behavioral Health Center and Community Support Services. She now works as a recovery specialist -- helping others find the help and support they need.

Elijuwon

"Today, I Am Enjoying Life." When he landed at Community Support Services, Eli was finally able to regulate his illness and learn how to focus and cope properly. He is now actively involved in the community to help improve the lives of those around him.

Lisa Marie

"Today, I Have a Positive Outlook on Life." Childhood tragedy and drug addiction threw Lisa Marie into a battle with major depression and bipolar disorder. She found help through Choices Community Social Center. She now works passionately as a state advocate to aid others in seeking the help they need to recover.

Lisa Marie received services through Choices Community Social Center and Community Support Services.
 

Karen

"Today, I Am Focused and Motivated." Karen began a career at Community Support Services, and eventually became a client of another ADM affiliate, Summit Psychological Associates. She still sees her psychologist to this day, and she is consistently ready and motivated to aid others in their recovery journey.

Karen received services through Community Support Services and Summit Psychological Associates.
 

Rodney

"Today, I am Stronger." Through Mature Services, D. Bruce Mansfield Center, Rodney has maintained his sobriety and is now able to help others in similar situations.

Erin

"Today, I Am Not Alone." Thanks to Portage Path Behavioral Health, Erin is now actively involved with his ADM "brothers and sisters." He was able to manage symptoms of his illness and achieve a sense of purpose through his rehabilitation.

Erin received services through Portage Path Behavioral Health and Choices Community Social Center.
